Introducing the hand-tufted AKI Rug B, a unique collaboration with visual artist Ria Alexandrou. Working across painting, sketching, tapestry, and installation, Ria transforms memory and the passage of time into tangible forms. Her practice, informed by literary texts and sociopolitical reflections, explores the dialogue between materials and the spaces they inhabit.

Through tufting, Ria treats carpets as both painting and sculpture, creating works that evoke sensorial memory from everyday objects. Her outdoor interventions, urban installations, and playful (mis)placements of rugs transform familiar surfaces into unexpected experiences.

AKI Rug B embraces organic shapes that interact with their surroundings, forming negative-space drawings on the floor. The AKI series celebrates unpredictability, offering flat, cut-out surfaces that frame and redefine horizontal and vertical planes.
