TO KOUTI PERFORMANCE
This installation was presented at the Larnaca Biennale, where it embodied the dialogue between the imagined and the tangible — a poetic exploration of where dreams and reality meet.
The installation is a creation of Studio Christine Kalia and lies somewhere between dreamy and existential; imaginary and real; between fantasy and materiality.
It’s precisely where dreams are conceived — inside the box — and where they materialize — outside the box, beyond our comfort zone.
With the mirror functioning as both our past scrutinizer and future planner — a truthful observer that judges from the inside out — this installation creates a space for new plans by naturally forming depth and volume, offering the individual a sense of mental comfort.
The space in which the installation is usually located is a safe space of comfort and familiarity, but also intimacy, freedom, and dreams. Placed among the waves and under the moonlight, the form of the bed completely transforms its nature, becoming a tool that breaks all boundaries, connects the performer with nature, and purifies everything with salt water.
