STAGE DESIGN FOR ”TO KOUTI” PERFORMANCE / LARNACA BIENNALE THIRD EDITION

The installation is a creation of Studio ChristineKalia and is laying somewhere between dreamy and existential; imaginary and real; between fantasy and materiality.
It’s precisely where dreams are conceived -inside the box- and where they materialize -outside the box, outside our comfort zone.
With the mirror functioning as of our past scrutinizer and as a future planner, which only tells the truth and judges you inside-out, this installation creates space for new plans by naturally creating depth and volume, thus also giving the individual more mental comfort.
The space in which the installation is usually located, is a safe space of not only comfort and familiarity but also intimacy, freedom and dreams. Placed among the waves and under the moonlight, the form of the bed completely changes its nature which now works as a tool which breaks all boundaries, connects the performer with nature and purifies everything with salt water.
